2 Day First Aid Requalification

The following course will be held at a central location and venue confirmation will be sent out two weeks prior to the course.

If your current 3 day first aid at work certificate has expired then to remain a first aider you must attend the

2 day First Aid at Work requalification course.

This course is offered both onsite and offsite

Duration: Two Days

The course covers the following topics:

  • Role of a first aider

  • Use of equipment

  • Importance of recording incidents and actions

  • Basic hygiene and preventing cross infection

  • The priorities of first aid

  • Assessing and managing incidents

  • Treatment of an unconscious casualty

  • Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation

  • Shock

  • Wounds and bleeding

  • Minor injuries including small cuts, grazes, bruises and small splinters

  • Dressings including bandaging and slings

  • Head, chest and eye injuries

  • Fractures and muscular injuries

  • Burns and scalds

  • Choking

  • Asphyxia

  • Seizures / Epilepsy

  • Diabetes

  • Asthma

  • Poisons

  • Anaphylactic shock

  • Heart conditions including heart attack, angina and stroke.

 

 

A re-qualification course can be done up to 3 months before the certificate expiry date and if completed then the new certificate would start from the expiry date of the last.

Pre-requisites

​

When booking this course you must provide evidence that you currently hold a valid First Aid at Work certificate. This will also need to be shown to the trainer on the first day of the
course.

The practical elements of this course are essential as they provide you with vital hands-on experience. It is important that you are physically able to take part in the practical parts of the course.

The HSE requires you to attend the full duration of the course to be eligible for evaluation and qualify for an Emergency First Aid at Work certificate.

Assessment and Certification

​

You will be continually assessed throughout the duration of the course by one of our qualified trainers. Upon successful completion you will receive an Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate valid for three years.

The HSE recommends that all qualified first aiders should refresh their knowledge and first aid skills every year. We offer an on-site Annual Skills Update course which can be delivered at your premises for up to 12 first aiders.

Additional Information

 

This course can be completed as an external course at one of our external venues which are strategically placed throughout the UK including all major cities.

Alternatively, if you have a suitable room available one of our trainers could deliver this course at your premises on a date of your choice. The timings could also be arranged to suit your requirements.

On-Site Training Room Requirement

​

It is recommended that the room size should be approximately 20 x 30 feet for a full 12 person course. The room should be large enough to seat all candidates comfortably in a semicircle formation. The floor space in the centre should be clean and uncluttered as this will be used for the practical parts of the course. The trainer will also require a flip chart if one is available
